Panel of Experts
The CFCR is assisted by a Panel of Experts comprising jurists, senior counsel with constitutional experience, and professors of constitutional law. The function of the Panel is:
- to advise the CFCR with regard to the pursuit of its goals;
- to alert the CFCR to any issue that might, in its opinion, pose a threat to constitutional rights and principles or that should otherwise be dealt with by the CFCR; and
- to assist the CFCR by identifying constitutional experts to draft constitutional opinions, write articles or assist with litigation before the Constitutional Court.
The Panel meets at least twice a year – but communication between CFCR personnel and the panel members is encouraged whenever the need might arise.
